We are currently accepting resumes for the position of a Respiratory Air Technician (RAT Shop) based in Cold Lake, AB. This position will be working a ten (10) days on and four (4) days off rotation.  Camp or LOA is not provided therefore local applicants will be given preference.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Understand and adhere to Tartan’s management system, policies, procedures and values
  • Ensures that In-depth records are maintained on air breathing equipment and other
  • Cleaning/Inspecting/Repairing Scott Breathing Air Equipment
  • Cleaning/Inspecting/Repairing Respiratory Masks
  • Performing mask Fit Test using Porta Count
  • Filing Breathing Air Cylinders
  • Maintenance//Repairs of Air Carts/Air Trailers
  • Bump Testing/Calibrating various Gas detection units
  • Inspecting/Certifying Fall Protection Harnesses
  • Perform Fire Extinguisher Inspections
  • Perform other duties from time to time as required
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Team player and committed to safety and quality
  • Dependable, reliable, organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Manual dexterity, good vision (glasses are acceptable), eye-hand coordination
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Scott Specialist Maintenance Certificate or Higher
  • Fall Protection Inspection Certificate
  • Mask Fit Testing Experience
  • Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
  • Valid driver’s license & Abstract with no more than 2 demerit points
  • Valid H2S Alive, First Aid and Fall Arrest
  • Valid CSTS/PST or EGSO
  • Confined Space Entry (Preferable)
  • Gas Testing (Preferable)
  • Clearance of a pre-screen D & A test
